Version 5.0 or newer is required, previous versions will not work correctly. You can identify the version number by observing the splash screen that pops up when you click on the PDF links. It should read "Acrobat Reader 5.0" (or newer), or you can start Acrobat Reader from your start menu and click on Help" then "about Adobe Acrobat Reader" and it will display the version number. You can test to see if you have the correct version with this Demo Form. If this Demo form displays and functions correctly, you have the correct version. If you determine that you have a previous version you can get the updated Free Reader here. Please refer to the Adobe web site for installation instructions. If you have verified you have installed the correct version, and you continue to experience problems, try using the forms from your PC's hard drive. The easiest way to do this is by e-mailing the form to yourself and saving it to your computer in a directory that you can locate (or your desktop). Once you have the file saved, double-click it to launch. This solves most issues. Contact the Live Tax Advisor if you need further assistance. |

Acrobat Reader will substitute squares wherever it is unable to use the appropriate font. The font set is embedded directly in the PDF file. It may be possible that the font set is being corrupted in the PDF file you are using. If you are using the file online from the web site, try emailing the form to yourself and saving on your PC and use it directly from there (or try the web site if you already emailed). Foreign language settings on your PC may also cause this. You can check your PC settings by going to the "Control Panel" and double-clicking "Regional And Language Settings" (this may be slightly different depending on your operating system). Make sure your "Regional Option" is set to "English (United States)". Contact the Live Tax Advisor if you need further assistance. |

Internet security software and other considerations may interfere with the performance of the forms. If you have this type of software on your computer, you may want to temporarily disable it. Some Internet providers run this type of software in the background while you’re on the Internet. If you have this type of problem, as an alternative to using the forms on line, you may download the forms onto your computers hard drive and run them from there. Here's how: On the links to the Interactive PDF's, right-mouse click. If you are using Internet Explorer, click on the "save target as". If you are using Netscape Navigator click on the "save link as". Other browsers have similar commands. You will be prompted to save the file on your computer. Direct the download to your computers desktop or a folder you can find later and click "save". When the download is complete, locate the file and double-click it, to launch. Contact the Live Tax Advisor if you need further assistance. |
